| Congratulations Dr. Mascherin!
Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship Award
Dr. Mascherin was recently awarded the
prestigious Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Mascherin was presented this award during the Academy of General
Dentistry’s annual meeting, which was held in Honolulu, Hawaii
on July 4 - 7, 2002.
This award is bestowed to dental professionals,
who have completed 500 hours of continuing dental education credit,
successfully passed a comprehensive written exam, and completed
five years of continuous membership in the Academy of General Dentistry.
The Fellowship award is a tremendous milestone in the most rigorous
continuing dental education program offered today.
To date, only 12,600 dentists have been
awarded this Fellowship honor. The award personifies the goals and
ideals of the Academy of General Dentistry of commitment to life-long
continuing education, excellence in the dentistry and a mission
to provide excellent patient care.
Striving to do her best, Dr. Mascherin
has already begun her studies toward the Mastership Award with the
Academy of General Dentistry. A general dentist who has earned the
designation "Master" of the Academy of General Dentistry
(MAGD) has completed a structured and rigorous set of requirements
involving all the dental disciplines. To attain Mastership, a dentist
must have already attained Fellowship status. Additionally, they
must then earn an additional 600 approved continuing education credits,
of which 400 hours are hands-on courses. So in the end, Dr. Mascherin
will have taken a total of 1,100 hours of continuing education and
studied 16 disciplines in dentistry!
Our office mission is to provide excellent
comprehensive dental care with an emphasis on preventive care, complex
restorative care and cosmetics. Our commitment is to be on the cutting
edge of our field. Excellence is achieved by emphasizing continuing
education for the doctor, staff and patient. This is essential so
that we can help our patients obtain optimal dental health. The
importance of continuing education in a field such as dentistry
cannot be understated. The more informed we are, the better care
we may provide to our patients.
